Star Trek: The Next Generation
You are Commander William T Riker of the
Federation starship USS Enterprise-D. When the Allies Aquila station is attacked by unknown aliens, you find yourself engaged in directing your crew to solve the
mystery by exploring a once great ancient
civilization.
To do this you must navigate your way through space, consult with crew and experts (real Star Trek actors digitized), talking with various aliens and
beam down to several planets.
As the game begins you start as a novice seeking
entry into the Klingon Imperiets Honor Guard, an elite group of warriors and
bodyguard to the emperor himself. It seems that someone tried to assassinate the Empire's Supreme
Chancellor Gowron. The conspiracy is so deep that not even members of the Honor Guard is safe. But
you - as newly arrived - have not a clue what is going on. Therefore, you are instructed by the
honor guards Korek leaders to track down the killers and give them a Klingon revenge. You're
several places, like a Klingon suburb, Penal colony of Rura Penthe, space stations and t.om.
interior of a Bird of Prey. You will encounter many enemies, rival Klingons (including members of
the House of Duras), Andoria, druids, nausicaaner, letheaner and other hostile
creatures.
The game's interface does not require text input,
but everything is handled by context-sensitive icons and buttons. Unfortunately, the game has no
sound and the graphics are kind of EGA. The graphics are good not the best, for example, are not
always used the 16 colors, and several scenes are only in black and white. But apart from that it
is a very good game (for its time).
Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Challenge

mount J "J / Star Trek / downloaded games

Change the quoted path to the above

After a review by Picard of what happened, he
determines what the mission is about. Picard then
hands over command to (you) Riker . Transinium The
Challenge is structured as a traditional
adventure games, explore worlds, chat with everyone you encounter, examine various objects,
transporting to different ships, and select the responses of the options that appear. You may also
be against another ship, but it takes up one one mariginell part of the game. Most are concerned
about being tricky. Time-consuming? Yes, but still quite a pleasant pastime.
The graphics are by today's standards a joke, but
it's nice to TNG-crew, and all other creatures you encounter, are digitized so that the characters
resemble the actors... viser been as taken from a black and white film from the beginning of the
century, but still. A fun approach!
The story is pretty well thought out and it's
good that you can save whenever you want during the game. Furthermore, you can always ask the crew
if you have difficulty going forward. Unfortunately there is
no speech (all shown as text), and the only sounds that occur are various simple sound
effects.
The game engine Unreal Engine is introduced
that provides a graphic that is really eye candy (32-bit VGA). You can use the mouse or
keyboard.
